The renovation and expansion of the John E. Fogarty Life Science Building was initiated by RIC in order to accommodate the rapidly expanding Nursing Program and included a range of spaces such as exam rooms, fundamental labs, debrief rooms, conference rooms, student lounges, and classrooms.

The approximately 10,000-square foot building addition to the existing Fogarty Life Sciences building functions as the new image and headquarters for the highly regarded RIC School of Nursing.

The project includes high tech teaching labs, a human patient and simulation spaces, electronic monitoring and movable working stations, and a debrief room for student assessment. The project also provided for a new administrative suite, Dean’s office and other support spaces - all emanating from a two-story high lobby space designed for student congregation.

Site work in this area of the campus included a new parking lot, landscaping and irrigation system which were added to the project as part of an Add Alternate.

Winner of the 2016 RI Chapter AIA People’s Choice Award.
