The Veterans Memorial Auditorium

The Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Auditorium Renovation Project was completed in phases involving the historical renovation of this performing arts theater.

The first phase involved renovations to the Office Tower and Administration Offices and included construction of a new elevator shaft providing access to the facility from lower street level and included various site improvements.

Phase two of the Project included renovations and refurbishment of the Auditorium, Lobbies and Vestibules. Construction began after The Vets season ended for the summer.

This first part of the Auditorium Project was to protect the seating and stage area, and to erect a complex scaffolding system so that the ceiling artwork restoration work could begin.

The painters/artists had to lay on their backs to painstakingly restore the ceiling artwork to bring it back to the brilliance when it was first commissioned.

From beginning to end, the project was completed in under 12 months in time for the reopening of the Vets Fall Season.
